HIV Research
Community-based research on HIV using genomics, bioinformatics, and data science to analyse behavioural and biologic interventions for prevention and treatment.
BRTI conducts cutting-edge HIV research spanning epidemiology, clinical trials, genomics, and implementation science. Our work addresses the full spectrum of HIV prevention, treatment, and care across Zimbabwe and Southern Africa.
Key focus areas include community-based interventions, viral load monitoring, antiretroviral resistance, and HIV co-infections. The institute leads major NIH and EDCTP-funded programmes including ATCHIVR and the Manicaland HIV Project.
