The Biomedical Research and Training Institute (BRTI) implements a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded Laboratory Systems Strengthening (LSS) Work Plan for the Ministry of Health and Child Care of Zimbabwe. The incumbent of this position will assist BRTI to enhance oversight on financial, operational, and human resources project components by establishing and maintaining the necessary processes that will ensure BRTI’s compliance with U.S Government Federal requirements, ensuring CDC-funded projects are conducted in accordance with the approved application and budget and the terms and conditions of award; as well as complying with BRTI institutional requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources or Social Sciences
  • One-year work experience in a Human Resources environment a prerequisite
  • Previous work experience in a Not for Profit Organisation HR environment a distinct advantage
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to handle volumes
  • Excellent Computer skills
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills

Position Summary

Position Summary

 

The Finance and Operations Manager will report to the Program Director of the BRTI LSS project.

The Finance and Operations Manager will be responsible for providing oversight for all finance, operations, human resources, and administrative functions of the program, and will be responsible for strategic planning on operational, human resources and financial components of the project and will have oversight of all financial and operations team

The position is based in Harare Zimbabwe and may be expected to occasionally travel to other provinces and districts when necessary to ensure program compliance with institutional and USG rules and regulations.

Tender for Solar powered Borehole Drilling Services

BRTI intends to drill solar powered boreholes in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare and Masvingo. The organisation is looking for service providers to carry out solar powered borehole drilling which includes the installation of a 5000litre tank on each site. The organisation did not carry out hydrological surveys for underground water abundance hence we have provided estimates for quoting purposes which is subject to variation upon actual drilling of the boreholes.

About

XACT-19 Study: Evaluating the impact of computer-assisted x-ray diagnosis and other triage tools to optimise Xpert orientated community-based active case finding for TB and COVID-19. There have been rapid advances in the development of triage testing for TB, which refers to screening tests that are generally applied in a community-based setting. This multi-country trial aims to determine the utility of CAD as a triage tool to further optimise the Active Case Finding (ACF) model. Importantly, COVID-19 and TB symptoms overlap, and testing is limited owing to the stigma and affordability associated with both diseases. Therefore, XACT-19 also aims to provide data pertaining to the feasibility of co-screening and testing for TB and COVID-19.

Qualifications and Qualities

Registered radiographer with a degree/diploma in radiography

Position Summary

Operate point-of-care x-ray machine to produce diagnostic images for TB and COVID-19

Work with a local community healthcare worker, nurse and driver to set up on site.

Risk-based screening, recruitment and testing of participants for TB and COVID-19 using point-of-care diagnostic tools.

Prepare thorough documentation of activities using Case Report Forms (CRFs) in accordance with the protocol.

The position encompasses a multitude of tasks and requires a lively person to communicate with the relevant institutional, community and health facility stakeholders and personnel.
